Wedding at Cumbria Grand Hotel
As with lots of happy couples the Lake District is high on their list of wedding destinations, and this is where you will find the Grand Cumbria Hotel. A 19th century hotel with plenty to offer.
If you want your wedding at Cumbria Grand Hotel you will have amazing rooms to choose from, all filled with natural light and friendly atmosphere, even in the winter it’s a warm place to be. The grounds are really well maintained and offer tennis courts, country walks and resident Peacocks, which are just as friendly as the staff; although it’s best to leave them to their day as you venture through yours. The Peacocks, not the staff 🙂 .
Downstairs you will find the ballroom which is large enough for pretty much any wedding party, with plenty of seating that doesn’t encroach onto the dance floor, leaving more than enough room for the dancing. The hallways are just as impressive and with period furniture looks majestic. One thing we noticed was that although it’s a big hotel it was always easy to find your way around without getting lost, even with your eyes covered by your best man.
We found that a wedding at Cumbria Grand Hotel is more like being at a stately home rather than a hotel. Although there will no doubt be guests at the hotel that aren’t part of your big day you don’t really notice, apart from some who may want to wish you the very best and raise their glasses, which is never a bad thing in our book.
It was like stepping back in time but with all the modern tweaks to help your day go to plan. The Lake District is one of the prettiest places in the UK and the Cumbria Grand Hotel and staff do it justice.
